Saint Mary’s Defeats Loyola Marymount with Strong Performance from Murauskas

Paulius Murauskas delivered a clutch performance, scoring 18 points and grabbing 12 rebounds, including a crucial late 3-pointer, to propel No. 23 Saint Mary’s to a 58-55 victory over Loyola Marymount. This win marked the Gaels’ sixth consecutive triumph.

Saint Mary’s, recently entering the AP Top 25, established control in the first half with a 16-2 run, taking a lead they wouldn’t relinquish. The team, fresh off clinching their second straight outright West Coast Conference regular-season title against Gonzaga, continued their dominant conference play.

Loyola Marymount’s Caleb Stone-Carrawell led his team with 17 points, and Will Johnston added 12. Notably, Saint Mary’s Mitchell Saxen made history, playing his 151st career game, a program record, although he fouled out late in the game.
