RJ Davis Shines: UNC Beats San Diego State in First Four Showdown

The UNC Tar Heels made a strong statement in their 2025 NCAA Tournament First Four appearance, delivering a decisive 95-68 victory over San Diego State in Dayton. RJ Davis led the charge with 26 points, propelling the 11th-seeded Tar Heels to a commanding win, with their lead reaching as high as 40 points.  

This victory sets up a South Region matchup against No. 6 seed Ole Miss in Milwaukee. UNC’s inclusion in the tournament had sparked debate, as they were the last team to secure an at-large bid, fueling discussions about the selection process. Their No. 11 seed marked their lowest tournament seeding since 1979.
